Our
Mission

If you empower women, you empower communities.

With an unwavering focus on feminist leadership, Her Adhikaar aims to radically transform communities to ensure health, well-being, and education are prioritised for women and girls. They must have access to resources and knowledge to make informed decisions about their bodies and lives.

About the Organisation

Her Adhikaar Foundation is an intersectional feminist nonprofit organization that works for the rights of women and children, particularly in areas of health, education, and community empowerment. At Her Adhikaar, we are revolutionizing gender-transformative education. We design curriculums for adolescents on menstrual health, sexual health, consent, digital safety and well being to empower them with the right knowledge and resources so they can make informed decisions about their bodies and lives.

We provide low-income communities access and availability of free-of-cost sustainable, hygienic period products to promote their health and well-being because a safe, and healthy period is every menstruator’s right. We run awareness and advocacy campaigns on sustainable menstruation, cervical cancer prevention and HPV vaccines, breast self examination.

Besides running grassroots community programs, we also research existing policy frameworks and identify implementation gaps to devise interventions for broader policy execution to ensure sustainable social impact for the largest number. We foster effective collaborations by partnering with essential stakeholders to maximize the extent of impact.

“Hi I got know about your organisation from my house-help, you took a menstrual awareness workshop in her daughter’s school, she came home and told everyone what she learnt, will you take one in the school I work with ?”

-Natasha, an Educator

Our Impact

When we first decided to map our impact, the numbers we realised were the following; 100,000 engaged 1000 directly impacted. However, after hearing numerous stories like that of Natasha, we realised that education empowers and circulates in a way that is truly wondrous and a joy to witness, and We want you to help us share this joy at an ever-increasing scale.
